Outpatient Rehabilitation Services
Outpatient Rehabilitation Services at JFK Medical Center North Campus provides individualized and comprehensive physical, occupational and speech therapy. Our team is committed to providing professional and compassionate care in a one-on-one setting. Therapeutic plans are developed to assist our patients achieve the highest level of functional independence.
Physical therapy services are available for orthopedic, neurologic, and neuromuscular conditions. This includes, but is not limited to:
- back/neck pain
- preoperative care
- postoperative care
- traumatic injuries
- sports injuries
- balance deficiencies
- stroke rehabilitation
Occupational therapy services are available for those who have had a decline in their ability to perform their activities of daily living. These include, but are not limited to, self feeding, bathing, grooming and dressing. Services are also available for treatment of acute or chronic injuries of shoulders or hands where interventions may include exercise, hands-on physical treatments, fabrication of hand splints, and assessment for durable medical equipment including power or manual wheelchairs or provision of adaptive equipment such as modified utensils.
Speech therapy services are provided by a certified Speech-Language Pathologist. Services are designed to meet the individual needs of each patient pertaining to deficits in speech, language, cognition and/or swallowing. Video fluoroscopic swallow studies are available in conjunction with the Radiology Department.
Individuals requiring any rehabilitation treatment must be referred by a physician and have a signed prescription from that physician. JFK Medical Center North Campus accepts most insurance.
